CEA Learning Camp
The CEA Learning Camp is a new initiative we started in mid-2023.
Our past tutorials mainly focused on how-to use CEA*, while the new CEA Lessons are shifting the focus towards how-to use the results of CEA simulations. In other words, now that you have the simulation results, so what? The CEA Learning Camp guides you use the CEA results to support your architectural, urban or energy system design.
You can find the CEA Lessons following two tracks: Designer and Engineer Tracks. In general, architects and urban designers may wish to follow the Designer Track, and energy engineers may wish to follow the Engineer Track. Meanwhile, either track consists of a series of modules.
*Please be noted that the past CEA blog and video tutorials are labeled as legacy and still available to you on the CEA Website until further noticed.

[cea-a-02] Trees…Do they matter?
The modelling of trees has been introduced into CEA v3.36.0. Now you can include trees in the solar radiation analysis. More features on trees will follow.
[cea-s-02] Sensitivity analysis using Grasshopper and CEA Dashboard (1)
Want to do sensitivity analysis (SA) for your urban design variables? This CEA Lesson introduces a method for SA using Grasshopper and CEA Dashboard.
[cea-s-01] From Grasshopper to CEA Dashboard
Want to simulate your design in Grasshopper for its energy performance using CEA? This CEA Lesson introduces a method to link the two.
[cea-a-01] Using CEA Dashboard? CEA Maps help you to get it started.
You have successfully installed CEA on your computer. Now what? The CEA Maps navigate the landing interface to create a new CEA Project and Scenario and to execute CEA Simulations using CEA Dashboard.
[cea-b-02] PV panels and where to place them 1: value for money?
Want the highest possible PV electricity yield? To achieve this, a simple method is to apply PV panels onto every inch of the building envelope. However, obviously it is not always this simple. This CEA Lesson provides you a method to identify the building envelope surfaces for PV installations using CEA.
[cea-b-01] Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) Design Module: Introduction
Now that you have the results of CEA energy potential: photovoltaic (PV) panels simulation, how are you going to use them in your design? This module guides you through a series of topics regarding urban and architectural design with BIPV using CEA.
[cea-v-01] Visualise CEA solar simulation results on building envelopes
Want to visualize your CEA solar-related simulation results on 3D building envelopes like the one below? This lesson guides you through a method using Rhino and Grasshopper.
