CEA Plug-ins
Here you can find a list of plug-ins that are created to work with the CEA.
Like using the CEA but wish to have more custom functionalities? You should make a plug-in!
Building's Energy Storage Potential
This plugin estimates the benefits of using storage technologies in
UBEMs using the solar potential of the building to produce electricity
and heated water. It uses the energy profiles generated by the modules
of building energy demand, photovoltaic panels and solar collectors to
simulate the behaviour of battery power banks, warm water tanks and
hydrogen production systems using different parameters in a scenario and assess their ability to satisfy the energy needs of the building.
The development of this plug-in was funded by Portuguese National Funding through FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, I. P., through projects UIDP/50009/2020 and LA/P/0083/2020 (LA LARSyS – IN+).

Building-integrated agriculture (BIA) Tool
A plug-in for the City Energy Analyst: building-integrated agriculture (BIA) extensions. It calculates crop yields, environmental impacts including GHG emissions, energy and water use, and costs including capital and operational expenditures for the selected crop type on the selected building surfaces. In addition, we have included a functionality that helps users explore suitable vegetables for their homes and provides them with planting calendars.
The users may visit here to generate a report visualising the results as a customised guide to growing vegetables at their homes. Please note that we have only included results of a limited number of buildings in our database due to our computational capacity. More results to be available soon!
As of 15 November 2023, this plug-in works the best for Singapore or its adjacent regions as the planting data have been acquired from the Tropical Technologies Laboratory affiliated with the National University of Singapore in Clementi, Singapore.
The making of this plug-in is for the Building-Integrated Agriculture Project funded by the National Research Foundation Singapore.

Please note that it is a known issue that the Database editor on the CEA Dashboard may stop working when the BIA Tool is active.

Heat Rejection from Building Systems
This plug-in calculates heat rejection that leaves the building through air-conditioning systems, which is divided between sensible and latent heat forms.

Building Energy Demand Calibration
This plug-in calibrates building energy demand against measured data following the ASHRAE Guideline 14-2014.
