2024 CEA lecture and workshop series:

On 8 April 2024, Dr Zhongming Shi will lead CEA lecture and workshop series at Tongji University in Shanghai, China. He will first deliver a lecture in-person at SNU about the City Energy Analyst (CEA), the research behind, and how CEA powered studio-teaching at ETH Zurich. He will also briefly introduce the overarching research topics on environmental sustainability at A/S Research Group, the Institute of Technology in Architecture, ETH Zurich.
After the lecture, Zhongming will host a hands-on workshop on the CEA tool. He will walkthrough CEA simulations with interested participants and answer questions. At the end of the workshop, the CEA Team welcomes feedback which will help shape future CEA for teaching and practice in urban design and energy system engineering.
In general, the CEA Team hosts events in English for a wider audience. For this event, Mandarin Chinese is available. 视与会者情况, 本次活动使用英文或者中文。
Lecturer’s Bio
Dr. Zhongming Shi is the Product Lead of CEA. He owns CEA's strategic direction of increasing education, professional practices, and business outreach. He is teaching a studio-based course named “Integrate-design Project” at ETH Zurich. The course addresses urban design issues informed by building energy performance.
Zhongming completed his PhD at the Future Cities Laboratory in Singapore. Then, he worked as the project coordinator at the Cities Knowledge Graph Project at the Singapore-ETH Centre. Meanwhile, he was the lead principal investigator for the project of building-integrated agriculture in collaboration with the Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore.
