Singapore’s Mixed-Use Archetypes

· [email protected]

Are you modeling mixed-use neighbourhoods using CEA? What is mixed use exactly? The default data acquired from OpenStreetMap (OSM) usually contains only the main use of each building. This datasets provide 163 mixed-use archetypes for Singapore. Each archetype contains the information answering: Which kinds of uses? And how much of each use?

Highlights

This dataset includes 163 mixed-use zoning archetypes in Singapore developed using master-planning data, Google Maps API data, and machine learning methods.

This dataset provides more detailed information for mixed-use developments compared to the default data fetched from OpenStreetMap.

In a case study, this dataset was demonstrated to have significant impact on urban building energy modelling using City Energy Analyst.

How-to-use

For mixed-use developments, select one of the 163 archetypes that has the closest Gross Plot Ratio (GPR) and Zoning Type to your targeted land plot for CEA simulation.

Apply the ratios of the detailed use types and then execute CEA simulations.

This figure illustrates the 163 mixed-use zoning archetypes for Singapore's ten types of mixed-use zones. Each of the ten mixed-use zoning types is associated with one or more archetypes. Each Archetype is characterised by a particular combination and distribution of programme types and programme floor areas, as well as a particular gross plot ratio.
